I feel like crepes are the perfect breakfast food for sweet tooth’s. They’re sweet but not heavy, they can be customized to anyones taste and have room for tons of fillings. That said, nothing beats the classic strawberries and cream combo! These crepes are filled with vanilla protein yogurt and the best strawberry jam. It is the perfect balance of sweet, creamy and tangy flavors.

The secret to making really good strawberries and cream crepes is using a high quality jam. You can make your own or use store bought but make sure it is delicious! I also used protein yogurt for the cream and it was even better than cream in my opinion. It tastes just as delicious and you’re getting in a good helping of protein. You can opt for low-fat cream instead though to actually have strawberries and cream crepes!

Ingredients

Exact ingredient quantities can be found at the bottom of this page.

To make these low calorie strawberries and cream crepes you will need:

Egg – This recipe calls for one medium egg. Ensure the egg is at room temperature and not cold. To get a refrigerated egg to room temperature quickly, set the egg on the kitchen counter for 30 minutes.

Unsweetened almond milk – I recommend using unsweetened almond milk because it has the lowest amount of calories of any milk. You can use any milk of your choosing but the calories may be different.

Plain/all-purpose flour – You’ll need good ol’ plain or all-purpose flour to make these crepes. You can opt for gluten-free flour here to keep them gluten-free!

Pinch of salt

0 calorie sweetener/SteviaAny 0 calorie sweetener of your choice will work here but my recommendation is stevia!

Vanilla – A little vanilla extract to add flavor.

Fat-free Yogurt – To fill the crepes with a creamy filling whilst keeping the calories low, fat-free yogurt is our best bet. You can also use reduced-fat or even full-fat yogurt but the calories will be slightly higher. I went for a fat-free vanilla protein yogurt to add some protein! Opt for a dairy-free yogurt here to make these crepes dairy-free. Alternatively, you can use fresh cream but the calories will be higher.

Strawberry jam – The best part! You can use homemade or store bought jam, as long as it’s delicious!

Fresh strawberries – You can’t have strawberries and cream crepes without the strawberries!
